I met Liz and Errol over the holidays for their engagement session at Palace of Fine arts, suggested by Liz. I hadn’t been there in so long, but all of us were so struck by the beauty and strength of the architecture and grounds. And with the misty fog coming through the backdrop, I was entranced by the magic and drama that happened in front of my camera. It was a great day, as not only are Liz and Errol celebrating their soon to be wedding in Tiburon and San Francisco this month, but also their future daughter London Olivia set for delivery in May. I just loved combining the two shoots, and it was such a timely celebration with the holidays. Looking forward to a gorgeous wedding to be.

I am so happy to see our Mr. Darcy make the week at SMP. Desiree+Joseph are two of my dearest clients and we haven’t even photographed their wedding! I wanted to include a little writing from Desiree. She is such a thoughtful and amazing bride. xx
From Desiree…
It was during one of our “girls weekends” when my father would take my three older brothers camping and my mother and I would rejoice in all of our favorite “feminine” things when we first watched “Pride and Prejudice.” Even though it was the colorized version painted with hyper-bright hues, the chemistry of Greer Garson’s willful Eliza and Laurence Olivier’s bewitching Mr. Darcy laid the foundation for a love. I was hooked. for life. Austen gave me models of love stories where the woman was esteemed to be bold, spirited, and out-spoken. Her heroines transfixed me-the romance, the longing, the ferocity, the mystery, and the passion.
When I met Joseph there was an instant flame between us. But as fate would have it, it was three years before we ever went on our first date. Good thing he didn’t take no for an answer and asked me out virtually every time our paths crossed until I finally said yes! Please believe me, I wasn’t playing hard to get. There was something about him. I think I knew somewhere deep inside me- this quiet, brooding man would forever change my life. That was a bit unnerving.
After dating only a little over a month we were separated by our lives taking us in different directions. Our response was letter writing. In this day and age, new technology often elbows out traditional forms of correspondence. But in addition to our emails and phone calls, we wrote each other letters, postcards, and sent care-packages. It was a courtship of exchanged dreams, fears, desires…favorite poems, books, & art, family histories, and led to our love.
Now, after six years together, we will be married. I found my Mr. Darcy, well, minus the arrogance. Joseph challenges me, inspires me, and envelopes me. So it turns out, if you believe with all your might as a little girl, you just may find your hero who celebrates you for the woman you are.

Lucky in Love. In a weeklong celebration of the Irish, my birthday (a BIG one!), and all things green…I loved this shoot for the sweet, sweet couple I will be photographing this May, for the yummy Bailey’s Irish Cream, the Guinness Beer, Jillian’s claddagh ring, and her adorable story honoring her grandfather and his daily dose of the Irish Bank, a very well known San Francisco establishment. And one that is dear to my heart being a girl who celebrates her birthday on St. Patty’s Day. To see the full story, check out Style Me Pretty this weekend.
The second I chatted with Suzi via phone, I knew she would be a great bride to work with. Little did I know how fun her fiance Joe would be as well (this guy has Top Model in the bag!).
Because Suzi+Joe were eloping, we decided to concentrate our efforts on an elaborate engagement session in their hometown of LA. With the help of two friends, the amazing styling duo Two Shoppers (310-867-4888), we focused the wardrobe on a Latin inspired theme. And since Suzi just released her first novel Love Habits, I visualized a long, forbidden romance… A romance out of a Harlequin novel set at a train station.
The photos shot in the station remind me of a watercolor or fresco. They evoke such a longing for love, such emotion, passion, and desire. I love the images as they run to catch the last train. We continued on to the colorful Olvera Street for some more fun and campy imagery.
As for the makeup & hair, I was fortunate enough to steal away Missy Sandora from her daily TV gig for a day of her incredible artistry. Lucky for me, Style Me Pretty is going to give you the full story and photos on the LBB on July 23rd…Check back in to see the beautiful story of Suzi+Joe.
I was super fortunate that Katie found me on SMP earlier this year. And in May I went down to LA to do their engagement photos. We had a ball. Not only are K+B super gorgeous and total dolls, they have an adorable story of how they fell in love. Katie and Bo will be married in August at beautiful Auberge in Rutherford. You can read up on their super sweet story and see their gorgeous pics today on the ultra-cool Style Unveiled.
Ps. Love this great shot from my assistant, Megan Youngblood.
I am so happy to see Jen and Russ’s E Session featured today on SMP. We had a ball. Such a fun- loving, cute, and creative couple. They were up for anything and the results show their easy going and adventurous personalities. Here are a few other photos from the shoot.
I will be shooting their lovely wedding in May, in Jen’s hometown of Sacramento.
