The first time I spoke to Mary Frances, I knew I was going to like her. A veteran in the fashion world, MF is a ball of energy, enthusiasm, and fun! Not unlike her product, Mary finds the humor in life and the beauty in design, her creations and aesthetics are like no other. Mary Frances designs for the exceptional woman; a woman who is successful, stylish, sassy, unique, and fun at heart. When Mary Kinney of Sister Brother and I came aboard, we wanted to bring a new look to MF to further along her audience span and the identity of the brand. We created a story based on two “real” fashionistas, who come together in the name of fashion and handbags. Yes, our gorgeous and ever-so-styling Mary was a model on this one too and the divine, Sandy Mandel of wear2where.com. The results… breathtaking and oh-so fun. And we cannot thank our amazing team and vendors as well. We couldn’t have done it without you, special thanks to…Kimberly Kalmbach of Bloomers Floral for set design and floral, Liz Bagatelos for makeup, Irminia Martinez for hair, and for the fashion: Christopher Collins Collection, Julius Clothing, SB Vintage Archive, Madam Butterfly, Franco Ferrini, and Hamilton Jewelers. And the biggest thank you to the talented and ever-so-sweet Miss Claudia Castillo Ross of Cross Marketing for allowing us to photograph in her unbelievably gorgeous home.

Gosh, it has been quite awhile since I have checked in. With five plus shoots a week, the blog has definitely taken a backseat. Luckily this winter, I will have plenty to showcase as I keep shooting as the sun keeps shining. You would think December would mellow out, but everyone is in such a trigger happy mood. I love it. And I love that I was able to photograph my dear friends, The Francos, this past month on one of the most stunning days of the year. Seriously, not one stitch of wind. And we were oceanside. I just love this family, love Judah (I call him Little Bugs), and of course, Miel…the wonder dog. Check out Miel in her most model-esque poses! This dog should have had a boa or something special, she’s so pretty.

Best partners. Best friends. Two peas in a pod. It is always amazing to see two women work hand-in-hand to build something as magical as Your Rockstar Life. When I spoke to Sasha Houdek on the phone about her fantastic new company, her energy and enthusiasm moved me so much I was ready to sign on before I knew anything about the product. Sasha, and her partner, Teresa Marchese came together because of their love and dedication to nutrition, health, and fitness, and furthermore, for their abilities to help others through motivation and inspiration. They have created the Rockstar programs to help individuals meet their health and fitness goals. You can join them on one of their many exotic getaways or Rockstar offers local seminars that fit perfectly into your everyday work schedule. When I suggested Sutro Beach (yes I have been there a lot lately), I thought it was the perfect spot for these empowering women…little did I know it is Teresa’s backyard and home to her fitness boot camps. I have to say the best part of the shoot, when I showed up looking for two girls decked in Nike gear, and instead, I got a dynamite duo in leather pants and stilettos. Yes, these girls do live the ROCKSTAR life. And yet, they are silly, humble, and fun. Everything you would want from a Rockstar leader.

It was an absolute joy to photograph my client and dear friend Amy for her new business and website, Always on Purpose. Amy is one of those girls who has a laundry list of accomplishments. With a BA in Mathematics and a MA in Transpersonal Psychology, its hard to believe she has been graced with such gorgeousness as well. And the best part is, its beauty on the inside as well as the outside. Amy is also currently starting classes in San Francisco called The Happy Body (I can’t wait to start). The Happy Body integrates nutrition, exercise, and relaxation into a program that helps you achieve the desired results you have always dreamed of. I know its a big claim, but with Amy I have seen first-hand results. And get this, you only have to commit to thirty minutes per session with no sweating! A big congrats to Amy, she has worked hard and is now doing everything she set out to do. Its all very inspiring.

My friend Ha.
Fun, Energetic, Alive. Always full of smiles. And Harley just adores her. We are so lucky to have her in our lives.

Of course I am biased to this shoot, as the subjects are two of my absolutely favorite people…my cousin Jon and his wife (and my “new” cousin) Kaya (although Kaya has felt like a family member for years!!). As a guest, I was unable to shoot their gorgeous wedding (luckily, I enlisted my associate and good friend Page to do the wedding day work-Fabulous!!). And so, I offered up my services for a day after shoot where we could be creative, fun, and downright dirty! The results are fantastic as Kaya and Jon brought their amazing style, crazy ideas, and endless energy to the shoot. And we were lucky enough to have the imagery featured today on one of my fave blogs, Rock ‘n Roll Bride. Check it out! Oh and gorgeous hair and makeup done by Nicole Passolano (815-616-0957) and Aga (773-501-6605). Such talent!
