The second I chatted with Suzi via phone, I knew she would be a great bride to work with. Little did I know how fun her fiance Joe would be as well (this guy has Top Model in the bag!).
Because Suzi+Joe were eloping, we decided to concentrate our efforts on an elaborate engagement session in their hometown of LA. With the help of two friends, the amazing styling duo Two Shoppers (310-867-4888), we focused the wardrobe on a Latin inspired theme. And since Suzi just released her first novel Love Habits, I visualized a long, forbidden romance… A romance out of a Harlequin novel set at a train station.
The photos shot in the station remind me of a watercolor or fresco. They evoke such a longing for love, such emotion, passion, and desire. I love the images as they run to catch the last train. We continued on to the colorful Olvera Street for some more fun and campy imagery.
As for the makeup & hair, I was fortunate enough to steal away Missy Sandora from her daily TV gig for a day of her incredible artistry. Lucky for me, Style Me Pretty is going to give you the full story and photos on the LBB on July 23rd…Check back in to see the beautiful story of Suzi+Joe.
In honor of one of the best holidays around, Cinco de Mayo, I am happy to see Jessica+Ryan’s adorable Mexican inspired wedding as a beautiful post on Destination I do today. Their story of love is a super cute one. And although the whole wedding was fabulous, their first dance-salsa act had everyone awe-struck.
As photographer Melissa Ann Bagley celebrates, “Izzy Magazine is a long time dream finally come to life”. And a celebration is definitely in order, Izzy is a gorgeous, seamless piece of art work. The magazine is all glamour and glitz! And Melissa is an inspiration to all as she juggles the busy life as a fellow wedding photographer and now as the editor of a beautiful new magazine. I am so happy to see Anna+James’ New Zealand Wedding featured on her blog today. Its a perfect summary of their amazing week on the little enchanting island of Waiheke where Anna and James sealed their love. Enjoy!
When I first met my bride Jen, I instantly fell in love. Jen is a bubbly, vibrant, beautiful, and energetic gal. Her energy is infectious. And there is no doubt, she’s the life of the party! That being said, her adorable hubby Matt, isn’t half bad either (kidding Matt!). They are a wonderful couple. And the wedding was an absolute blast.
The wedding was held at the gorgeous Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley. It was an unreal 90 degree October day. And the vendors who contributed to the day were fabulous. The fabulous coordinator Amy Byrd headed the pack: Caterer-Classic Catering, Florist-Wendy Melrose, Band-Manhattan Towers, Hair & Makeup-Irminia Martinez (408-781-5001), Videographer-A Delightful Concept.
I am absolutely in love with the images of the day and I couldn’t be happier to have them premier on Style Me Pretty’s LBB today.
Of course I am biased to this shoot, as the subjects are two of my absolutely favorite people…my cousin Jon and his wife (and my “new” cousin) Kaya (although Kaya has felt like a family member for years!!). As a guest, I was unable to shoot their gorgeous wedding (luckily, I enlisted my associate and good friend Page to do the wedding day work-Fabulous!!). And so, I offered up my services for a day after shoot where we could be creative, fun, and downright dirty! The results are fantastic as Kaya and Jon brought their amazing style, crazy ideas, and endless energy to the shoot. And we were lucky enough to have the imagery featured today on one of my fave blogs, Rock ‘n Roll Bride. Check it out! Oh and gorgeous hair and makeup done by Nicole Passolano (815-616-0957) and Aga (773-501-6605). Such talent!
I was so happy to see Kristina and Michael’s gorgeous wedding on the hip and happening blog, Latin Weddings. Its been awhile since I photographed this wedding, but oh, what memories! I will never forget trying to pass a huge zebra parked in the middle of the road to get to their ceremony on time. You can never imagine a place more beautiful, exotic, and eco-savvy as Cuixmala. It truly is paradise.
