It is amazing to be able to watch my families grow up. I feel so fortunate to have the amazing clients that do and to be able to share in the beautiful memories of their children year after year. I first photographed Todd, Ashley, and Pierce when Pierce was one (and not moving!!). This go around was a bit different, the boy didn’t stop. And seeing him in action was just too much fun. Although after an hour of fun at the park and some cool urban shots nearby, Pierce fell asleep on his daddy’s shoulder. I guess we finally tuckered him out. I adore this family and look forward to many, more fun times. And I love Ash, we both hit Madame Butterfly the second we wrapped. Gotta love a women who shops well too!
Yeah, yeah yeah! It is amazing to see the first issue of Kidaround come to life! And we are so proud to have the cover and the feature spread. The Fabulous Kara Turner, the magazine’s new owner, has brought class and charm to the forefront and heart of this magazine with a true celebration of moms. I was selected to contribute to the magazine by the one and only, Mary Kinney of Sister Brother & Fashion Style Editor for Kid. As always, her unique and dynamite vision for this story on extraordinary moms was a true masterpiece. And we always have the most incredible synergy together. And all of you Moms rocked it. I can’t thank you for your beautiful kindness and energy throughout the shoot. We look forward to many more Kidaround contributions. Here’s a sneak peek at the feature spread.
Edgy editorial, cool kids, a superb columnist, and the best stylist around? I am in! I am just about to shoot the first editorial spread for the revamped kids magazine, Kidaround. Not only will Mary Kinney of Sister/Brother be involved styling the shoot (and you know I will do any project that girl is on!) as the new Fashion Editor, but the magazine promises to improve on its already so-popular stories by continuing to resource its large readership and real moms. I can’t wait to share our first contribution, stay tuned. And to note, the picture above is from last year’s holiday shoot with the Kinney Family (you see what I mean?).
I had never worked with identical twins until I met Leticia and Kevin’s gorgeous daughters, Victoria and Barbara. Beyond being blown away by the unbelievable tea party Leticia created to host her daughters photographs, I was absolutely in awe at how the twins moved and mirrored one another so completely. It was amazing to watch them move so harmoniously, and yet, have such different personalities. I just adore the cupcake pics. Actually, I adore it all. And of course, the homage to the Giants was not a bad way to go either.
It seems a bit crazy to be focusing on a Xmas shoot when its 80 degrees in San Francisco right now. But after a move to a new home in December and a wildly busy winter, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to post on this great family. Ashley came way of one of my absolutely favorite clients and friends, Mary Kinney of Sister Brother. And after meeting her fabulousness, her adorable son Pierce, and her oh-so fun hubby, Todd…I am so glad they did. We had a ball and I felt like I had known them for years. I look forward to many more shoots and lots more fun with this family.
I had such a great time photographing Evah and her parents, Michelle and Edgar. My new Sacramento clients, they were so easy going and ready for anything. Considering they had never done a photo shoot in my typical photojournalist style, they approached and handled the session like pros. I just adored Evah’s spunky personality, as it reminded me very much of my little girl Harley. When Harley gets bigger, I hope to get these girls together. They would have endless energy and enthusiasm together. Anyway, I love the images we got and I adored being in Sac for the beautiful Fall colors and leaves with this wonderful family. Although, I think we tortured poor Evah with the leaf throwing.
I love when I am featured on SMP as they always do it right. They have a beautiful way of telling each couple’s story and this one is no exception. Jen+Russ are an adorable couple. You may remember their engagement feature on the SMP’s the LLB, a love story amongst burgers, shakes, and a infamous diner. We had an absolute ball on their beautiful wedding weekend. I fell in love with all of their family and friends. Oh and I almost forgot the best part, not only are Jen+Russ a super match, they are also super artists and designers who came together to create the most beautiful line of wedding collateral. Jen’s company, Press Engaged. Its unique, creative, and smart. Enjoy!
