I was so happy when I got the call to photograph one of my fave families again, The Nagpals. And even better news, they are expecting another adorable baby this December. So not only did I get to catch up with their sweet kids, Reyna and Jay, but I felt honored documenting Ritu’s belly and baby-to-be. I can’t wait to see and photograph their new addition. And as always, we had a ball shooting. Reyna even brought me a beautiful drawing to start the day.
On this particularly gorgeous weekend in October, I could have camped at Sutro Beach and awoke ready for my two family shoots there. We were so in luck with the weather at one of my very favorite, but testy sites in San Francisco. It is a rare treat to have a windless, cloudless day at the baths and I was fortunate to have two. The first was spent with a new and lovely family, The Dulas. Kelly and Brian are two of the sweetest people and they have two beautiful children that were lots of fun and full of energy. Serena led the way with Ashton following close behind.
Angela came to me via my clients, The Koenigsberg Family. The minute I started making plans with Angela for the shoot, I knew we would have a great time collaborating. Her vision and ideas were awesome. I should have known the girl was a creative… Angela is a sought-after stylist at the adorable Parsnips Salon in Pac Heights. And a super mom I might add. Usually clients just show up, but Angela had the red wagon and bubbles in hand. All in all, it was a great day at Sutro and I loved working with the family. T.O. and Koby couldn’t have been more low-key and Kailer was a ball of energy and fun. He kept me on my toes for the full hour.
Dear sweet Nikki and Joe came to me via SMP from Washington state and South Carolina. I was fortunate to spend a beautiful wedding day with the couple and their family at City Hall (soon to be featured) and the following Saturday (on one of the most gorgeous days EVER) for a fun “Trash the Dress” session. Nikki+Joe’s story is super cute. Nikki had been helping a friend back into the dating world via cyberspace when she was approached by one very persistent, and most importantly, charming suitor. Funny thing is, Nikki hadn’t even signed up for the service and suddenly she found herself in a full throttle long-distance romance. The two have brought their three children together, and their week here in San Francisco was a celebration of a couple in love and a new family beginning.
Ok, my job was WAY too easy where Maria was concerned. First off, she is drop dead gorgeous, comfortable with the camera, and she has an adorable and super fun personality. We hit it off immediately!!
Maria and I decided on a shoot out at the Sutro Baths. The weather was a little dreary, but the smiles and personalities made up for the foggy skies. Maria brought along her amazing parents, who will be renewing their vows next year, and her two gorgeous friends (who happen to be sisters) Tiffany and Tamara.
With a tribute to Maria’s boot fetish and a few wardrobe changes, we got some incredible photos to round out Maria’s story. I hope you enjoy.
