Rachel+Garret were an absolute joy to work with! An amazing wedding filled with love, emotion, beauty, and enthusiasm. We are so honored to have this stunning wedding featured today on Style Me Pretty. Incredible thanks to SMP, Rachel and Garret, the Rossen Family, and team of vendors who worked so incredibly hard to execute the incredible vision of one very energetic and talented MOB, Linda Rossen.
Sarah and Mike are a darling couple who had a lot of passion and vision for their day. They were looking for a non-traditional venue with a working farm that wasn’t already set for a particular wedding or event space. They stumbled upon Chileno Valley Ranch and stopped on a whim. The couple instantly fell in love with the farm, which has been in Sally Gale’s family for generations. They felt blessed that this unique and beautiful place existed and now would be a part of their loves forever. It didn’t hurt that Chileno was a cattle farm and Mike’s family has always been very passionate about their meat!
Words from the bride…”Sarah and Mike’s wedding was a labor of love. We made our own rings at a silver-smithing studio and our talented families helped with many of the details: Sarah’s mother baked the cake; Mike’s mother did the calligraphy; and Sarah’s godmother painted a water-color of the venue for the invitations and programs. The painting now hangs framed in their home. Because of our love of animals and passion for local farming, Chileno Valley Ranch was the ideal place for our wedding. Where else can you feed goats in your wedding dress and have your ceremony interrupted by mooing cows?
In keeping with our passion for local farming, we tried to match Chileno’s philosophy with our other vendors. We chose Back to Earth Organics to do the catering because of their commitment to local, seasonal organic foods. They even helped us come up with the idea of making couches out of the farm’s haybales so that we could save money on furniture rentals! We chose Soulflower as our florist, and we were so pleased with how seasonal flowers looked like they had been picked straight from the garden. Mike’s father has a passion for wine and we did a picnic table tasting at a nearby state park before selecting J. Lohr. Finally, we really wanted to have a good time, so we selected HipService an AMAZING Sacramento band that managed to fit a full band complete with back-up singers and lights for music that got everyone dancing all night. Perhaps most importantly, we wanted a photographer who would document all of the details of the venue that we fell in love with – and Lauri’s images have an amazing way of capturing the landscape, the joy of the occasion, the food, the wedding guests, and so on. Hello Lucky did our fabulous custom stationary. And Monique Llhulier for was the designer of my beautiful dress.”
They day was perfect, a true celebration of everything Sarah+Mike. We had an absolute blast being a part of it and getting to know this absolutely fabulous couple.
You gotta love an engagement session that starts in giggles, ends in giggles, and is everything in between. I am the first to admit, an engagement session can be a little awkward as it is so different from a wedding where you are just immersed in the moment. But that is exactly why engagements are such a great way to get yourself in front of the camera (outside of the day of), get to know your photographer, and learn a little about what it takes to make a great photo. Oh, and a paper bag with a little vino always helps too.
I had such a ball with my 2013 clients Jackie+Matt. Who wouldn’t fall in love with a couple that spends two hours giggling and smiling ear to ear at one another? It was infectious and oh-so cute. I can’t wait for their beautiful wedding next summer in Menlo Park. And thank you Jackie for giving me an excuse to get out of the city and out to stunning Woodside for our shoot.
When Desiree and Joseph came to my door to talk about photography, I was instantly drawn to them. We sat down across from one another and fell in love. I was captivated by their passion for one another, their art, their work, their family and friends who would surround them on their big day, and for the tremendous attention and respect they were giving to each and every detail would envelope the day. Desiree, a wonder woman in every making, is the modern day Martha. But her care and consideration go way beyond just DIY, it is an appreciation and cultivation of culture, history, and tradition. Both Joseph and Desiree are modern people living to appreciate and love all things old. Not in the rustic, vintage cliche, but more for the story, the impact, and the glory of something that has been treasured, passed on, or just lived in for a very long time. I am so happy that the glorious Style Me Pretty picked this wedding to showcase. Not only did Desiree’s mom embroider every guest’s name on their napkin, but each family member brought a beautiful dessert in honor of the couple. The details go on and on as you will see in the post Desiree+Joseph today on SMP.
Liz and Errol got married in January at the gorgeous Old St.Hilary’s Church in Tiburon. It was an amazing day with the sun shining.
The wedding went off without a hitch and it was wonderful to see such a great couple come together. I had taken Liz and Errol’s engagements in December, for a little practice in front of the camera and, more importantly, to document their new daughter to be. Liz was five months pregnant and they are expecting a gorgeous little girl named London Olivia. And although I could share numerous photos of this wonderful wedding event, what struck me the most about this couple is how they are bringing two families together in such a loving and caring way. Errol’s kids, Miranda and Lewis, couldn’t be more excited about the couple and Olivia’s arrival. And it shows in the pictures. I adore the couple’s first moment and how the kids and pregnancy are intertwined with this special time for all. I am looking forward to London’s arrival, they will be amazing parents again. Thanks to my second shooter Jessica Epstein for her wonderful contributions.
Absolutely honored to have Jillian+Sean featured in this winter’s edition of the Knot. The couple and family were an absolute joy to work with. And this 4 page spread shows the amazing time, energy, and love that they put into the wedding at Meadowood… along with their dynamic team… Melissa Panico of MAP events, stunning design by Radeff Design Studio, an ethereal and magic video by Joe Serrato Films, A Day in May for the gorgeous collateral, immaculate makeup and hair by Sarah Hyde, and a perfect cake by Perfect Endings. I also wanted the opportunity to thank my amazing second shooter, Jessica Epstein, for her beautiful work as always. And we will never forget the “Miracle” Dress by Monique Lhuillier. We were thrilled to be a part of this amazing day in celebration of a fabulous and loving couple. xo
Mallory is just too good to me. As always, she has covered one of my favorite weddings, Melissa+Ramin, most beautifully today in the gorgeous blog Style Me Pretty. Melissa+Ramin is a wedding full of heart, love, and culture. And when you add in the joy of an antique ferris wheel at an organic farm as beautiful as Bear Flag Farm, the results are enchanting and magical. And the story is unforgettable. Tina Reikes, the owner of Bear Flag, was the magician behind this well conceived design, along with an amazing list of vendors who share an incredible talent and enthusiasm for this couple.
